That Damned "War Profiteering" Video
So MoveOn.org has a new flash video about how the war profiteers are making billions on the Iraqi war, and the way this whole thing is being presented really irks me.
Offending quote: "[Companies are making billions]...they're getting rich, our soldiers are putting their lives on the line."
That's it. Absolutely nothing about the fact that over ten thousand Iraqis have been killed. Obviously they are not even worth mentioning, but U.S. SOLDIERS, OMG! Men and women that volunteered to go off and die are being killed! Damn that George Bush.
(Ordinarily I wouldn't be so snarky about an organization like MoveOn that is doing something I approve of--attempting to get rid of Bush--but I'm becoming more and more annoyed at the cabalistic nature of the media at large in their portrayal of Iraqis, and, indeed, non-Americans of all stripes and colors (especially brown people) as incidental aborigines in the assumed mass standardization of globalism and imperialism. Very humanitarian, MoveOn.org.)

I mean, it's almost like they're saying: "It's okay to go over there and kill those miscreant scumbags, but only if it's not the cronies of George Bush that are getting rich off of the plunder;" or "George Bush sent all those soldiers over there to die, and we don't even have all that cheap oil we were promised."
