Republican Quiz
I'm mildly shocked, but I did vote for "nuclear energy" and when it came up in the quiz, so I'm guessing that's what pumped me up. Oh well.

I am:
30%
Republican.

The Anatomy Of Sarcasm
From the article:
New research appearing in Neuropsychology details the anatomy of sarcasm and explains how the mind puts sharp-tongued words into context. The psychologists behind the research explain that for sarcasm to work, listeners must grasp the speaker's intentions in the context of the situation, which calls for sophisticated social thinking and whether we understand that everyone thinks different thoughts. An example of what happens when this "theory of mind" is missing can be found in autistic children, who have problems interpreting irony, the more general category of social communication into which sarcasm falls.

Welcome to One-leg-online.com
Hellbound:
On this site we introduce ladies, which have lost a leg, but not the courage for living.

We hope, that all, who have the same faite, will get a little hope for a normal future.

Always think to the fact: You are not handicapped by yourself (e.g. because you have only one leg), you are handicapped by others.

I tried to beat off to this, but it just wasn't happening.

How to destroy the Earth
The site is created by a guy named Sam Hughes. He's a mathematics student at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, UK. This site is hugely entertaining, from his movie reviews to his list of methods of how the Earth could possibly be destroyed. I like the "fall back" methods, as those are the ones that are going to happen anyway, like being: swallowed up as the Sun enters red giant stage. You will need: patience. Method: Simply wait for roughly 5,000,000,000 years. And so forth .... but thrown in there will all that math and science is this: Things which will NOT destroy the Earth - Gay marriage. Good to know.

Usual "don't try this at home" disclaimers apply. I accept no responsibility for the destruction of Earth or any other celestial body.

Four dead after anti-American riots erupt in Afghanistan
Hey, I know, let's go fuck with an ancient people's culture and they'll embrace us with loving arms. To put not too fine of a point on it: let's rip up copies of the Koran and flush them down a toilet to psychologically torture detainees. Tonight, I'm going to rip up a copy of the Bible and flush it down the toilet, and I want all of you fuckers to think about how that makes you feel.

Desecrated, is what I think they call it.

Will wood help fill US energy needs?
A pretty good use of industrial byproduct, and proof that we'll meet future energy needs (as long as we ditch oil, blah blah blah). Plus, my dad works at a paper mill, so I wonder if he works on this stuff.

Lion Mutilates 42 Midgets in Cambodian Ring-Fight
Okay, let me just say that you should note where this story comes from. It's being reported by the BBC. I, like most of you, do not trust journalistic integrity these days, so my inner skeptic is buzzing with disbelief that a lion actually fought 42 midgets in Cambodia (and won). But my inner believer really wants to, well, believe that this is true. And why the hell didn't I get an invitation?
