You too can run a Corporate Police State
http://www.nationstates.org --> Jennifer Government's Nation States simulated game...

For those of you who have ever wanted to start up a new Region and a new Nation to play with.

I mean, maybe evil empire is really the way to go, if YOU were the dictator. Or maybe you’d like to try your hand at a compassionate and liberal country. Whatever you choose, you can do it. Come on, I know you want to ...

Condoleezza Rice's cross-dressing drag queen gay first cousin says she was a fridgid lesbian
At least she was until she began her affair with George Bush.

This leaves me squinting in absurdity. There is a certain fakeness about the page. The comment following the post of "Vaginal Creme Davis," allegedly her first cousin, is repeated three or four times (just scroll down). Furthermore, the comment is not only repeated, but is visually and contextually composed so as to appear to be chaotic. It took me a moment of speed-reading down the page to realize that I was reading duplicating information.

Which leads one to wonder: is this some cruel prank, contrived as a sick "fuck you" to Rice now that she's been confirmed?

Wonder I did, so I looked up the domain "Vaginaldavis.com" at netsol.com, and found some interesting information. First of all, the domain has been registered since August 7, 1999, to one Larry Roberts of San Francisco. A Google of "larry roberts san francisco vaginal davis" turns up many references between the two in the San Francisco performance scene. Plus, some of the comments on mefi indicate knowledge of Vaginal Creme Davis as a real person.

So now the question is: is this too good to be true? And by "too good," let me assure you that I have no love for Condoleezza Rice whatsoever. I think she's a hard worker and very dedicated to her job but is craven for power, and will kill any number of thousands of foreigners in order to fulfill the agenda she has sworn to serve. Which is really quite Satanic when you think of it, and in some way I appreciate it but with something that is definitely not "love."

Anyhow, you be the judge. Pray to all of your dark gods that this gets picked up by Keith Olbermann.

angry post
(I really have no intention of making any apologies here. But it is Frank’s blog, so if my frustrations are not welcome here, that’s fine, I’ll just find something mind-numbing-absurd to take its place. Gee, I’m sounding more and more hateful with every breath. So much for my promotion of non-violence and peace. I think it is time to re-embrace the whoop-ass-attitude.)

Education secretary condemns public show with gay characters
Firstly, this is wrong. There are not gay characters. Buster, the rabbit is visiting a lesbian family - they are not characters on the show. He is visiting them, as friends. I mean, this is like saying that Ellen can have a show, but can't host it because she is a lesbian. Or rather, Ian McKellen can't be a guest on the Tonight Show because he's gay, even though the topic is about lord of the rings, and not about sexuality. What I'm saying? It's not about the family being lesbians, it's about family. Period.

Spellings wants PBS money back
And you know what, once you have donated money - you don't get it back. That's why it is called a donation. It's not like some sort of stock market, when you put money in, and when you don't like how things are going, take it out again.

Leave Buster Behind.
As for homosexuality being an epidemic, that's just fine. I shall lead a force so great, we shall destroy all those who have opposed us for so long, I shall smite the ruin of all who would see us destroyed.

* * *

I am a supporter of PBS. It used to be "free" from all those other big networks, it used to provide education and news without the influence of special interest. But now a show, which I have been know to watch is being censored for exposing (note, NOT promoting) viewers to a lesbian couple. "Postcards from Buster" and spin-off of "Arthur" are shows I have been known to watch, and explore all aspects of different people and cultures. I first watched it when it dealt with a character who has dyslexia (like myself). The show also explores religions from Mormonism to the Islamic faith. But now, with all this diversity, there is one sort still not tolerated? I’m sorry. I thought we were teaching our children tolerance, not ignorance and fear.

But now a children’s show is being accused of promoting a "gay agenda". What the hell is a gay agenda? I think I would be aware of such a thing if it existed. I mean, my god. Yes, MY GOD. Andrea Lafferty, of the Traditional Values Coalition (WTF is that supposed to mean?!) says: "American’s and tax-payers don’t want their dollars spent promoting homosexuality". I’m sorry. So us homosexuals don’t pays taxes? We aren’t Americans?! Fuck you lady! See if I pay any more taxes to this country!

Dimed Out
Eris bless you, Mark Dery, destroyer of the hipocracy that is "Not One More Dime Day" and liberal ass-growers everywhere.
First, the whole business reeks of bobo sanctimony and cultural elitism. Any member of the Adbusters-reading, Supersize Me-watching leisure class who honestly believes she can Stick It to the Man by keeping her dimes firmly in her hand-knitted Guatemalan rucksack, right beside her manically underlined copy of Chomsky's Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance, is unlikely to be seen rolling a 55-gallon drum of Miracle Whip out of Wal-Mart or rejoicing in fried offal at the local McDonald's. The NOMDD demographic consists largely, if not entirely, of inconspicuous consumers.

The Dude is the Buddha
In the age of increasing darkness, it is nice to know that there is enlightenment yet to be found.
In a Buddhist understanding, the Dude is not lazy: he just doesn’t concern himself with unimportant things, or at least important things in the Western sense. Money seems of little value to the Dude. He isn’t employed and he doesn’t care to be. He even ultimately resists the temptation of the ransom money.

Journal: Not sleeping...
It hasn't been working. I finally got some sleep last night, but it was from 2:00AM to 1:00PM. Tonight: 4:18AM, and I'm still a) downloading stuff; and b) playing tiny spaceships. I got a lot of sleep last night, but it was that "unhealthy sleep" that you're not supposed to have. I could take a pill, but they kill my body so much that I realize that I can't move my real body in my dreams, so I keep alternating between waking up and not realizing that I'm still in a dream until it's too late, or waking up and no being able to move so I fall back into my dreams of not being able to wake up. Plus I sweat on the pills. Sweaty body + immobile body = bad body. But there's no alternative. I have to sleep. I have things to do tomorrow. But I can't sleep. Argh.

I haven't had restful, healthy sleep in about a week now. I dunno if winter is getting to me in some strange way or what, but tonight I feel like I could kill someone and not even notice.

Evil Spyware Assholes!
Ack! I had a Freestats.com tracking banner on my page so I could get stats until about a minute ago. The reason for removal: when I was viewing my blog, I noticed that something from "gator.com" was loading via the banner. Gator! No! They are the most evilest of evil spyware assholes in the world! So I have removed the banner and will exist without stats until I care enough to write my own hit counter.

DO NOT USE FRESTATS.COM.

Also, I'd like to apologize to anyone that got spyware from viewing my blog, and then I'd like to call all of you who were infected "stupid morons for using IE," and offer up this helpful clue instead.

Laura Bush Defends Gala in Time of War and Disaster
From the article:
With less than a week to go until her husband's second inauguration, Laura Bush on Friday defended the decision to hold the $40 million celebration as planned despite a war abroad and the tsunami disaster in the Indian Ocean.

Inaugurations, Mrs. Bush said, are "an important part of our history."

And by "our history" she is, of course, refering to the Bush family history.

An Intellegent Article on the State of the Army
One of the best articles on the Iraq war that I've read in a long time. Talks about how the "old soldiers" (i.e. boomers) are unwilling to take risks, therefore are being unsuccessful in Iraq; while the "new soldiers" (i.e. gen xers) are more flexible and able to handle the various situations. The article explains it's POV in a concise and poigniant kind of way, and doesn't seek to discredit or bash the army in general. IMHO, well conceived and well executed.

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well. An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly. You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view. A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

Randy Pausch on Electronic Arts
With all of the recent court actions against EA, I thought I'd post this great insider's look at Electronic Arts. Randy Pausch, Professor of Computer Science, HCI, and Design at Carnegie Mellon University, spent a summer at EA in residence, and analysed their business models, corporate culture, and tried to get at what makes EA the 5th largest software manufacturer in the world (!).

From the executive summary:
Facts academics should know about EA:
• EA plans to fill over 1,000 positions/year in the near future.
• EA has traditionally hired 10% of new hires from universities and wants to increase that number to 75%.
• Making games at EA is a team sport: between 20 and 200 people work on each game.
• EA is a huge company, bigger than Apple and Pixar combined. EA has a $15B market capitalization and $3B/year in revenues.
• EA is a ruthless meritocracy with a brutally honest culture, especially for critique and feedback.
• One of EA's major strengths is in management of people and process.
• The largest sin at EA is not delivering your game on time.
• EA has a very young, energetic work force.
• People at EA work long hours, in large part because of their great passion for making games.
